BROKEN BRANCHES NEW ART STUDIO

Come in and take a tour of my new art studio...click video below

ALL BUNDLED UP

These are some of my latest stones.  These guys are the heart of what I love to do.  I've been painting stones since 1998 and although I've had my hands in lots of other art forms, I come back to my rocks and broken branches every time. I crochet their cozys and their hats. All my rocks are done with charcoal pencils and Sennelier soft pastels.

This little guy rests in a hand made wool felted bunny suit and is mounted on a piece of white birch surrounded by feathers.

JOURNAL PLAY ON A SNOWY DAY

Today was a snowy, cold day in Virginia.  The roads were covered so no driving but I'm so blessed to have my new studio so close to home that I put on the boots, heavy coat, gloves and hat and trekked my way through the woods, along the creek and arrived at my studio.  It was quit, cozy and warm inside so I just sat in my comfy "yellow chair" and did a little journal playing.  The top girl was done with oil pastels and charcoal pencil.

I have a habit of picking up a legal pad and start doodling and drawing and afterwards regret not taking the time to get my journal, so I cut her out of the legal pad and used some gel medium to get her into my journal.  I just used charcoal and gesso on this one.  Not a masterpiece by any means but it's always good practice.
